Description:

Join us for a deep dive into pronouns! It can be difficult to speak without using pronouns. After all, we have been socialized and educated to use them. Despite the everyday use of pronouns, their impact on understanding gender expression and gender identity is often underestimated. In an effort to better serve our students and each other, please join the staff of The Gender and Sexuality Campus Center for an in-depth look at pronouns. We will discuss how to ask for pronouns, how to share your own, what to do when you make a mistake, and why using “they” as a singular pronoun is not a new phenomenon! And, we will practice using they/them/theirs pronouns and other neo-pronouns.

  • Eligibility: This workshop is open to individuals who are not employed by MSU, but who work with MSU or whose organizations include MSU employees. To be eligible, registrants must identify an MSU contact to share during their registration. This person needs to be currently employed by MSU and we will contact that person to confirm their relationship.
  • The workshop is capped at 35 participants. For questions, please email lbgtrc@msu.edu or gscc@msu.edu.

To schedule a separate workshop, please fill our our Workshop Request Form below. The LBGTRC is no longer accepting workshop requests for the month of May. We currently have limited availability in June, July, and August and only a handful of slots remain for the summer months. If you are interested in a summer workshop, please submit your request ASAP:
