New2U: LBGTQA+ First Year Experience Program

Each fall and spring semester at Michigan State University, the LBGT Resource Center offers a six-week program for first-year LGBTQA+ college students.  The goal of the program is to enhance the experience of first-year LGBTQA+ students at the university through community building, interactive learning, and goal setting strategies.

Who is New2U for?  New2U is for undergraduate students who identify as an LGBTQA+ person and are new to Michigan State University.  Students can be first-time-in-college students or transfer students from another institution.

What will I gain out of being in the program?

  • New friends and mentors;
  • Learn more about university services and resources;
  • Learn more about student organizations;
  • Develop a personal action plan to achieve your goals for your first year of college; and,
  • A space to talk about your various identities

How often does New2U happen?  The first six weeks of each semester!  We will send out information on the dates and location over our social media and in our newsletter.
