New2U: LBGTQ First Year Experience Program

Each fall semester at Michigan State University, the LBGT Resource Center offers a weekly program for first-year LGBTQ+ college students.  The goal of the program is to enhance the experience of first-year LGBTQ+ students at the university through community building, interactive learning, and goal setting strategies.

Who is New2U for?  New2U is for undergraduate students who identify as and LGBTQ person and are new to Michigan State University.  Students can be first-time-in-college students or transfer students from another institution.

What will I gain out of being in the program?

  • New friends and mentors;
  • Learn more about university services and resources;
  • Learn more about student organizations;
  • Develop a personal action plan to achieve your goals for your first year of college; and,
  • A space to talk about your various identities

How often does New2U happen?  Every week!  The group meets every Wednesday at 7:30 PM.  Location is TBD.  The first New2U meeting of the year will take place on Wednesday, September 7th.
